Artist’s Statement
Painting provides me with more than just an interest, it is a continuous vehicle for learning and expanding my thinking. Working with oil paint offers great versatility, the medium very much to the forefront of the work. The painted surface can take on a myriad of forms, from thick to thin, flat to sculptural, therefore always a challenge.
The excitement the interaction between observation, imagination, instinct and the medium presents constant fascination. The discovery of oneself and the relationship to the world outside through the act of painting is endless.
