I have recently travelled to the USA twice. The first trip was a touring holiday, seeing Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and the Rockies. We travelled between them on Route 66, taking in the breath-taking scenery, visiting all-American bars and dancing. These paintings reflect the most memorable aspects of the trip, but I find myself drawn back to it as a subject.
